I guess you're just what I needed...

Maison Martin Margiela boots (picture taken from Sea of Shoes)

Since my birthday approaches, and the end of the sales is near, I decided to give myself a nice little gift, and I went to my friendly store, La Piscine, to see if my dream boots were still there (I had seen them months ago, so I wasn't very optimist). But they were actually there, waiting for me! The one and only pair they got, a 36.5, just my size. And I got them with an additionnal 30% off! So I'm just waiting for the X day (my birthday, on February 16th) to finally put them on... So I guess you'll see them on my feet very soon!

What happened to our sweet girl?

I just watched the new Aronofsky movie, Black Swan. It's definitely one of the best movies of the year. We all love Natalie Portman, but I believe that this is one of the movies that really make you aware of what a great actress she actually is. I don't want to tell a lot about the plot for all of you who haven't seen it, but I just want to share with you some of my impressions concerning the great plot and the outstanding performances. Natalie stars as Nina, a ballerina in the New York City ballet who is obsessed with one thing: perfection. Her life is all focused in her dancing career, hence her only contact with the world is her overprotective and possessive mother (played masterfully by Barbara Hershey), who gives her no chance whatsoever to have a normal life, friends, and less of all a sentimental relationship. Nina is a tortured self, suffering from eating disorders as well as a self-destructive behavior. But her life is about to change when she is chosen to be the new ballet queen. All this new attention and the pressure that comes with it makes her even more inclined to go beyond the boundaries between good and evil, sanity and madness, reality and illusion. Will the road to perfection lead to the road of perdition? That's for you to see...
